Straight answers.
Including the awkward ones.
Where a question has a definitive answer in the terms or privacy policy — who owns your content, what trains AI models — this page gives that answer rather than a comfortable version of it. Where something is not available yet, it says so.
Getting started
What Soclo is, who it suits and what it costs to try.
What is Soclo?
Soclo is a business growth app that brings marketing strategy, content and advert creation, social publishing, customer conversations, analytics, configurable Autopilot work and fixed-price payment links into one connected system. You can use one part, several, or the whole loop — it is not all-or-nothing.
Is Soclo free?
There is an ongoing Free plan at £0 a month with 0 included credits. It is a permanent plan, not a time-limited trial, so you can connect your accounts and publish work you have written yourself for as long as you like, and add credits only when you want Soclo to generate something.
What kind of business is Soclo for?
Any small or medium business that needs to be found, book customers and get paid. Shops, trades, salons, hospitality, agencies, estate agents, clinics and professional services all use the same loop.
Can I use Soclo on my phone?
Yes. Soclo is a signed-in web app at app.soclo.app and is also live on iOS and Android. The same account, work and credit balance apply across all three.
Do I have to use every feature?
No, and you should not try. Each capability works on its own. Pick whatever is currently costing you the most time and leave the rest switched off until it becomes useful.
What should I set up first?
The Brand Kit. It is the highest-return setup in the app because it is what stops generated drafts sounding generic, and it reduces how many attempts — and therefore credits — you spend afterwards.
Plans, credits and billing
One shared wallet, what draws on it, and how the plans compare.
What is a credit?
A credit is the unit Soclo uses to price AI work. Different kinds of work cost different amounts, because generating a caption and generating video are not comparable jobs. The balance is shared across the whole app rather than split per feature.
Which actions actually spend credits?
Generation does: copy, images, video, website content, and Autopilot doing routine work for you. Connecting accounts, publishing something you wrote yourself, scheduling it and reading your existing activity do not.
What do the plans include?
Free is £0 a month with 0 credits, Starter £7.99 with 200, Pro £19.99 with 800, Business £49.99 with 2,500, and Autonomy £99.99 with 6,000. Every feature is included on every plan — the tiers differ only in how many credits they give you. Plans renew until cancelled.
Is there a yearly option?
Yes, on every paid tier, and the saving differs by plan. Starter is £79.99 a year and Pro £199.99 a year — ten months’ price for twelve, about 17 per cent. Business is £479.99 and Autonomy £959.99 a year, both a full 20 per cent off.
Do credits expire?
Credits bought as a one-off top-up never expire. A subscription grants an allowance each month. Your current balance in the app is the authoritative figure.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, up or down at any time. On the web, plan changes are prorated to the day. Subscriptions billed through the App Store or Google Play are changed in your store account.
Can I buy credits without subscribing?
Yes. Top-up packs are 50 credits for £1.99, 120 for £4.99, 350 for £14.99, 1,000 for £39.99 and 2,500 for £99.99, and they never expire. Note that a bigger pack is not better value — they land between 3.98p and 4.28p a credit whichever you pick. A subscription is far cheaper per credit: Pro is 2.50p and Autonomy 1.67p.
How do I cancel?
Cancel through the place you subscribed. Subscriptions billed through an app store are managed under the relevant Apple or Google terms. Nothing in Soclo’s terms removes your mandatory cooling-off, refund or consumer rights.
Does a website use a separate balance?
No. Soclo Pages is an add-on inside Soclo and draws on the same credits as everything else. There is no hidden reserve that stops those credits being useful elsewhere.
Publishing and connected accounts
Where Soclo can post, what each platform requires, and why connections fail.
Which platforms can Soclo publish to?
The current list covers fourteen destinations: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Google Business, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, X, Bluesky, Reddit, Telegram, Discord and WhatsApp.
Is publishing limited on cheaper plans?
No. Publishing to all fourteen destinations is available on every tier, including Starter, because plans differ only in credits rather than features. Publishing work you wrote yourself does not consume credits at all.
Do I need a business account?
For several platforms, yes — they do not permit third-party or scheduled publishing from a personal account. Instagram is the most common example, requiring a professional (Business or Creator) account. That is a platform rule rather than a Soclo one, and switching account type is done inside the platform.
Does Soclo need my social media password?
No, and nothing legitimate will ask for one. You approve access on the platform’s own permission screen, and it issues Soclo a limited, revocable token. Your password is never seen or stored.
Why did a connection stop working on its own?
Tokens expire by design, and are also revoked when you change your password, alter the account type, remove Soclo in the platform’s connected-apps settings, or lose an admin role on a Page. Reconnecting restores it, and nothing already published is affected.
Why did one destination fail when the others worked?
Destinations are handled separately, so one rejection does not cancel the rest. Fix the failed one rather than republishing everything, or the destinations that already succeeded will post twice.
Can Soclo publish without my approval?
Only if you have explicitly allowed that task to run hands-free, and only inside the permissions and credit cap you set. You can keep everything approval-first, and a first website launch always requires the owner to tap Publish.
How do I revoke Soclo’s access?
From inside that platform’s own connected-apps or business settings. Because access is a token you granted there, you can withdraw it there at any time without going through Soclo.
Content, AI and your rights
Who owns what, what is used for training, and where responsibility sits.
Who owns the content I create in Soclo?
You do. Soclo’s terms state that you retain ownership of content you create or upload, and that you grant Soclo a limited worldwide licence to host, process, format, generate derivatives you request, publish and transmit that content only as needed to provide the service. You must own the content or hold every necessary right and permission for it.
Does Soclo train AI models on my data?
Soclo does not use information obtained through connected Google or other platform APIs to train or fine-tune general-purpose AI models. The privacy policy states this directly and is the authoritative version.
Does Soclo clone my voice?
No. Soclo does not offer voice cloning, and preset text-to-speech does not create or retain a clone of your voice.
Will the output sound like AI?
That depends almost entirely on how well the Brand Kit is filled in. Given nothing, a model produces the average of everything, which is exactly the generic register people recognise. Given your actual words, real prices, service area and the objections customers raise, it produces something specific to you.
Does Soclo write in my own voice?
It works from the Brand Kit, which stores your tone, the words you use and the words you never want to see, and it can also learn from captions you have already written or from your connected accounts.
Am I responsible for what Autopilot produces?
Yes. Soclo’s terms state you are responsible for reviewing Autopilot permissions and for lawful output created under the settings you chose, and that you can reduce or pause autonomy settings at any time.
Does Soclo guarantee results?
No, and be sceptical of anything that does. Soclo does not guarantee search ranking, advertising results, revenue or growth, and it does not claim a specific post caused a specific sale when the evidence cannot establish causation.
Websites
What is open today and what is still behind the launch gate.
Can I build a website with Soclo yet?
Yes. The website builder is in the app and open to owners: you can create a site, edit it and publish it yourself. What is not switched on is the renewal and suspension side of a live site, so no activation or monthly charge is running. The page editing tools are also being rebuilt at pace, which is why our guides cover publishing rather than layout.
What will a Soclo website cost?
The published model is 120 credits to activate a soclo.site website and 120 credits a month to keep it live. That pricing is fixed, and it is not charging during the preview.
Should I move my existing website?
Only for a real blocker — the platform cannot do something the business needs, the cost no longer matches the value, you cannot export your own content, or you do not control the domain. Boredom with the design is a reason to change the design, not the platform.
Payments
What is live for getting paid, and what is planned.
How do I take payments through Soclo?
Three things are live: connected merchant onboarding, fixed-price payment links, and payment activity. You are set up as a merchant in your own name, you create a link for a stated amount, and paid links are recorded alongside the rest of your business activity.
Does the money go to Soclo first?
No. Payments are made to your connected merchant account. Soclo creates the link and records the activity rather than holding your takings.
Can I take payment in person?
Not with a card machine — that is still to come. A payment link works in person whenever the customer can open it on their own phone, which covers many counter and doorstep situations.
Can Soclo issue a refund on its own?
No. Refunds are a protected decision and always require your confirmation, as do bank details, prices, campaign budgets and payment settings. No automation setting changes that.
Your data, safety and leaving
What is stored, what support will never ask for, and how to leave.
What does Soclo store when I connect an account?
An encrypted access token, used only for the features you choose. You can disconnect a supported account, and the third party also processes information under its own policy.
Where is my data stored?
On encrypted-at-rest infrastructure hosted in the EU, GDPR-compliant, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
Will Soclo support ever ask for my password?
Never — nor a verification code, full card details, or identity documents by email. If a message asks for any of those, it is not legitimate. Do not reply; report it.
How do I delete my account and data?
Through the dedicated account deletion route on the site. Data-rights questions go to [email protected], and an easy exit is something Soclo is required to provide rather than something to negotiate for.
How do I report content or a likeness concern?
There is a public reporting route that does not require an account, and content and likeness concerns can also be raised at [email protected].
How can I check whether a feature is actually available?
The product updates page separates what is live from what is still being earned, and is deliberately explicit that a feature described in the future tense is not quietly treated as available.
Ask a person.
Longer explanations live in the guides, and the product updates page tracks what is live versus still being earned. When the situation is specific to your business, email us — include the screen or address, what you expected and what happened. Never send a password, verification code or full card details.
